C HRISTMAS MARKET 2003 RECAPBy Sandi Remedios, Jayne Picott and Cip Bibby T he Christmas Market was a success again this year due to the effort of so many caring, sharing people. Attendance was down from last year and the final numbers aren’t in as we write this note. Our gross deposits to date amount to approximately $22,000.00 which is roughly the same as last year. However, even if the net amount is down a little, the Market was a success in many other ways. We had lots of new
volunteers helping with the Market this
year, combined with our core group of
volunteers, we counted approximately 225 people
who contributed to the Market this year. We
would like to extend our special thanks to
the many convenors, who give of their time, talent
and treasure throughout the year to make
this event happen year after year. There wouldn’t
be a Market without those special people.
They are an inspiration to us all.
Thanks to the staff and clergy for their help and support. Thanks to the choir for taking on the candy table. As if they didn’t have enough to do! Thanks to all the groups who got together to contribute to the Market, including the helpers who made the tourtières, meat pies, mincemeat and steamed puddings. They helped put the "Fun" in "Fundraising".
A special thanks to the "Men’s Cooking Group" for their contribution to the atmosphere of the Market this year.
Thank you to all those who sourced or contributed prizes for the Raffle and items for the Silent Auction.
Thank you to all
the volunteers new or repeat who made this
event possible. Please come back next
year, we need you all!
