Open Doors
Why a free store you might ask?
Many people on social assistance or working in minimum wage jobs are unable to afford to purchase clothing for themselves and their children; there is nothing left over after the high cost of shelter, food and transportation. Children go to school without adequate clothing. Men and women try to find jobs without appropriate clothing. People don't have clothes that adequately protect them from the weather. In short, people suffer.
Every Tuesday from 4:00 - 6:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am - Noon, we offer free clothing for men, women and children, and a welcoming respite.
How might you contribute to this ministry?
Each Saturday morning and Tuesday afternoon, team members work at Open Doors and they are always looking for people to join them; to help set up the store as well as to mingle with our guests. High school students looking for volunteer hours might find this to be the perfect opportunity. If you don't have a free Saturday or Tuesday, consider donating some of your gently used clothing. Most importantly, please keep the Open Doors project and our guests in your prayers.
Thank you for your ongoing support of this community outreach program.
